SSRI & therapy: Xanax (alprazolam) helps anticipatory anxiety but usually doesn't control panic attacks. Treatment usually consists of a ssri & cognitive therapy. Consult with a psychiatrist who treats panic disorder.

Not medicines alone: Medications are only partially helpful -- you may also benefit from psychotherapy aimed at understanding & dealing with your personal anxiety. You can learn tools for managing it when it comes up, and learn to interrupt typical triggers. There are also additional medications that can help (not just xanax). See a psychiatrist -- they're specifically trained to treat anxiety and many other problems.

Panicky ????!: Could be a panick attack . Have to see a psychiatry spec for further evaluation together with s family dr. Checking any general medical condition ptoducing the anxiety, including but not limited to thyroid , mitral valve, adrenergicos, vitamins, anemia, blood sugar, hormone imbalance . The xanax (alprazolam) could be ptoducing a w. Syndrome and be more anxious, also some times depression could be related.

See your MD.: After ruling out physical causes of your anxiety your md will discuss treatment options. Medications like ssri antidepressants maybe, in the long run, safer than xanax (alprazolam) type meds that can cause addiction.
