Rest, heat, stretch: Muscular back pain usually results from overuse, poor positioning, and poor posture. As i sit here typing this response complaining of lower back muscle tightness, i reconfirm that simply improving one's posture is simple and very effective at relieving pain- i feel better already! gentle stretching and massage of the tight muscles in conjunction with the application of heat also helps.
