I've been having severe muscle spasm on the back of my thighs. what is the cause and what can i do to relieve the pain? can not sleep.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many possibilities: Meds you are taking may interfere with some food absorption including calcium. Try chewing tums (calcium carbonate) with each meal. Also increase potassium intake by eating 2 oranges daily or other foods rich in potasium. Muscle strains and pinched nerves can also cause muscle spasms. If symptoms do not improve, then exam, blood test, and other tests may be needed.
