A member asked:

Is there any way to know if bp medicines are causing leg calf aches?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: However, leg calf cramps ("charley horses") are very common - everyone has them sometimes, whereas i'm not aware of any BP medicines that cause them. An overly strong diuretic ("fluid pill") could contribute, but they're usually due to overstretch of the muscle as occurs when lying in bed. Supporting the foot, keeping it in a position of flexion (toes towards the nose) will help prevent cramps.
