I woke up and straightened my leg and my kneecap popped when i did, it started burning after that around my kneecap and i have a dull ache. i havent done anything strenuous lately and its been an hour since it happened, what couldve caused it?

Chondral fissur: You describe a sudden painful pop or catching that can be a one time event or if it recurs, especially at same knee bending angle repeatedly and reproducibly then it is more likely a patellar cartilage lesion or fissure. A thorough orthopaedic evaluation with appropriate imaging will reveal diagnosis.
