Weeks to years: Some people with dvt[deep vein thrombosis]have no symptoms. Some have symptoms that go away after few weeks. Some people with DVT have symptoms that persist for years, this is called postphlebitic syndrome. It is strongly recommend that you wear compression stocking after DVT and complete treatment of anticoagulation to reduce the risk of postphlebitic syndrome and other complications of dvt.

Dvt: The pain is secondary to the inflammatory reaction Anticoagulation will reduce the inflammatory reaction as well As the inflammation reduces so will the pain Use of a compression stocking would also be beneficial
