A member asked:

Every time i get a glucose test in doctors office my fasting glucose is between 92 and 98. is this an indication i'm developing diabetes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Still normal: Fasting blood sugar < 100 mg/dl is normal (if the value comes from a laboratory). Since there's concern, you may need a hba1c or possibly a 2-hour ogtt. Your fasting blood sugars border on the high side. A 2-hour post prandial blood sugar may not be normal. You could still have pre-diabetes. If you're at risk for type 2 diabetes, please discuss prevention with your doctor.
