Gestational diabetes: Gestational diabetes is diabetes that didn't exist before the pregnancy and goes away after the high hormone levels of pregnancy fall back to normal after delivery. This requires repeat testing at about the time of your 6 week post-partum check-up to know for sure.It does increase the risk of developing diabetes later in life so it's a good idea to watch your diet and weight let your doctors know.
