Lymphangisis/angioma: Lymphangitis is an infection involving the lymph glands & is seen on occasion. It can occur in various parts of the body including the groin. Lymphangioma is an overgrowth of lymphatic tissue that is usually apparent at birth or soon after. Lymphangioma's can get infected but your wording seems to point to lymphangitis, a well known problem.
