ENT doctor can check: Unusual sensations in the tongue, jaw, or throat areas can be checked by a primary care doctor and an ENT doctor. Symptoms are hard to describe in words. The doctors can examine the area to see what might be the cause of the symptoms. If there is concern that there is something in there that can't be seen with a light or a fiberoptic scope, the doctor may get an imaging scan of the area.

See ENT doc: If you actually have swelling in your chin area, you should be evaluated by an ENT doc to determine if you have any pathology.
