?church group?: Most religious trained persons are good at dealing with depression and anger reactions. Even if you do not have a current church, ask around and find out which church offers counseling or emotional help. Often there are county mental health programs that are available on a sliding cost scale. Keep him out of bars and try to avoid drugs without counseling.

Public Psychiatry: If you live in a city with a medical school and psychiatric residency or psychology training programs, there may be options for treatment on a sliding scale basis like dr. Goldie mentioned. There are community mental health centers in some cities also. You can also check out http://www.Nafcclinics.Org/ and http://www.Hrsa.Gov/index.Html for low cost clinics in your state. Good luck to you.
