A member asked:

When is it advisable to remove a gall bladder from the body?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Frequently: Gallbladder removal is a very common procedure. It is indicated if the patient is having recurrent pain and/or nausea from the gallbladder if there are gallstones or if the gallbladder doesn't contract properly. It is also indicated when the gallstones begin causing complications such as infection, obstruction, or pancreatitis.
