Do you have: Hemochromatosis? If you have hemochormatosis and have not been undergoing therapeutic phlebotomy to remove excess iron, and still your ferrtin level has dropped so dramatically, the first action would be to repeat the test.

Lab error?: It happens. Or you may be losing blood without knowing it. How far did it drop? Your physician is your best guide.
