A member asked:

Vulvodynia started at the same time as intermittent dull pain at lower abdomen and bladder. doc said it's nerve pain. both associated? what nerve?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ultrasound and colon: Bladder area pain needs to have infection ruled out and possible interstitial cystitis needs to be checked. Goes hand in hand with vulvodynia--but all else has to be ruled out. Pelvic pain--get ovaries checked. Colonoscopy. trigger point injection of iliohypogastric nerve can be done in office. If it relieves pain then using drugs like Amitriptyline or gabapentin may help. more tests needed!
