What are the similarity and difference between hemorrhoids and varicose veins on legs?

They are both veins: However varicose veins are due to incompetent valves in the veins that allows blood to pool and dilate the veins causing cosmetic issues and pain. Hemorrhoids are generally not varicose veins but rather normal veins in the anal area that can become symptomatic with pain and/or bleeding when we abuse them with diarrhea or constipation.

Hemorrhoids: Both hemorrhoid veins and lower extremity veins work to carry blood from the tissues back toward the heart. Hemorrhoids and varicose veins happen due to malfunction of the blood flow toward the heart. Pooling of blood in the rectum/ pelvis causes blood congestion of the hemorrhoidal veins resulting in hemorrhoids. Pooling of blood in the limbs causes stagnation of blood and varicose veins.

Same problem...: But different location and different set of veins. Both can hurt, burn, itch, enlarge, become inflamed, and become clotted. Both can become worse with pregnancy and delivery.

VENOUS PRESSURE: Hemorrhoids are essentially varicose veins of the anal area. Both are due to increased venous pressure. In the case of vv, the increased pressure is due to valve malfunction and in the case of hemorrhoids, it is due to engorgement of the anal veins from irritation, straining, etc. Varicose veins are unsightly and can cause aching and heaviness whereas hemorrhoids tend to cause pain and bleeding.
