Were stockings: Yes will be warm when standing as more blood is in the veins and sitting position less blood is filled in the veins you will benifit by wearing elastic stockings before undergoing any invasive procedures.

See a doctor: It is quite common for varicose veins to become warm when someone stands for any length of time. Because varicose veins don't work properly, they fill with more blood and have higher pressure when you stand. This results in venous inflammation and warmth. The pressure returns to more normal levels when you sit, lie down, and/or put your feet up so the warmth goes away. Time to see a doctor.

See a vein doctor: This is normal for varicose veins - they are worse with standing. See a vein doctor and get them fixed. Phlebology.Org for a referral.
