What is the recovery time of cardiac bypass compared to aortic valve replacement?

May be the same: Valve surgery is a longer and more complex procedure but the post-operative recovery times may be the same. If the heart was badly stretched or thickened by prolonged valvular disease, it may take time for it to acclomate to the change in pressures resulting from better valve function.

Same: Generally not significantly different. The biggest factor affecting how long it takes to recover from cardiac surgery is the overall condition of the patient prior to the surgery.

Depends: If the aortic valve replacement is done minimally invasive, the recovery is faster. The in-hospital stay is not much different, but the patients return to normal activities sooner. If both are done with a full sternotomy, recovery is the same.
