I have to have aortic and mital valve replacement.also with a veiw to heart bypass!!! why would i need a bypass after valves are replaced.why bypass?

Possible: There are different options for repairing or replacing the heart valves. If the valves are repaired surgically, often surgeons will want to perform bypass at the same time, so a second operation won't be necessary. It sounds like a longer discussion with your cardiologist, or a second opinion, may help to better weigh your options. Call 911 if chest pain, short breath, dizziness, passing out.

Different problems: A bypass is done when you have blockage in the arteries supplying the heart muscle and the valves open and close allowing blood to flow through the chambers of the heart.
