79 year old male going to have (tavr) transcatheter aortic valve replacement surgery in 2 weeks, started taking a 9 day run of prednisone 10mg for gout flair up and the uric acid levels were very high. will the prednisone interfere with the recovery?

Your adrenal glands can become a little lazy after the prednisone treatment and this reduces your body's response to stress. However, you're not having open heart surgery with all the stress on your body that that entails. An endocrinologist would be best to consult preoperatively to determine whether the procedure should be postponed or not.
