Varies: Prognosis can be quite good, but depends on the condition of the heart muscle as a pump after the surgery, the age of the patient, other medical conditions (co-morbitities), and other factors. Every case is different. Your doctor can give you a good idea of your particular prognosis.

Overall very good: Patients having bypass alone have a long-term survival in many studies that is not different than the general population. When aortic valve surgery is added, the long-term survival is a bit less, though with ima as the graft to the lad, survival for the combined approach is still ~80% at 10 years. Clearly older patients and those with mixed leaking and tight valves do worse.
