Increases HR: Marijuana use increases heart rate by 20%-100%, shortly after smoking. Marijuana users have 4.8 times greater chance of heart attack in the first hour after smoking. It causes palpitations & arhythmias as well as elevation of actual heart rate. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11401936.
