They can be caused from viral infections, a mouth injury, aggresive tooth brushing, biting the cheek or tongue, emotional stress or hormonal changes. Treatment is palliative...The sores will usually heal by themselves in 7-10 days. Stay away from hot, spicy foods. Non prescription orabase ointment can be applied before meals.
