No mouthwash: These are self llimiting, & heal on there own. Warm salt water (only a pinch of salt) may be soothing, or coating them with a dab of milk of magnesia or using kenalog (triamcinolone) & orabase, but this is a rx.

In addition: To the other answer which is absolutely correct, there are some otc palliative remedies to help solely with the discomfort -- quantum canker cover patch; or Benzocaine in orabase. Hope this helps.
