May be bone pieces: I assume the teeth were removed on the left back upper jaw? Sometimes the cracking noise can be small bone fragments that can be dislodged from the extraction socket. It can also be your left TMJ popping or clicking. You may want to be evaluated by the doctor that removed your teeth.

Post Op: Swelling to bleeding and other symptoms are common after a surgery. Your symptoms could be because of opening your mouth for a prolonged amount of time. If you feel uncomfortable, then go to the surgeon to evaluate.
