Radiating jaw pain: Often a toothache can cause radiating pain that travels up your jaw, ear, and even the temple area of the skull. It can cause headaches as well. Pain medication (such as ibuprofen) will help but the radiating pain may be a sign that your dental infection is getting worse. You should not hesitate to see a dentist, especially if you develop swelling of any kind. Best of luck to you!

Sore tooth/side: Most common cause of toothache is a deep cavity/abscess. Spreading infection causes inflammation of plural tissues and surrounding sone/soft tissues. Can't be fixed with medication alone, physical dental treatment is required. Please call a dentist and explain your situation. They will schedule you as soon as possible, and may place you on antibiotics in the interim.
