Read below: A splint is great just after a fracture to get temporary immobilization and to get the swelling down. Make sure to see a doctor for this within the next 5-7 days to get treatment such as a cast or surgery, dependant upon the extent of the fracture and stay on crutches. You don't want to turn the fracture into a bigger or more extensive problem.

You may want to : Call that same hospital and ask what you can do. Some allow one follow up visit to their clinic after being seen in their er. I don't know i don't know if your hospital has this policy but you may want to give it a try. Otherwise, you may just decide to go to the orthopedic clinic at the hospital. Hospitals, often have flat fees or sliding scale payments based on income.
