Do fatty foods make you fat?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sort of.: In general, you get fat when you eat more calories than you use. Fats have more calories per ounce than proteins or carbohydrates (more than double!), but it's usually that big pile of spaghetti or rice that does you in. Portion control is often the first thing to do to lose weight. That's why bariatric surgery works -- at least at first. Fewer calories in means less weight.
