Defined location: The abdominal cavity can be broken down into four quadrants, the division lines are the midline that divides the right from the left and a transverse line that is at the belly button. Within the left lower quadrant, lies the sigmoid colon (part of the large intestine), the left ovary (females), and the left kidney ureter. If abnormally enlarged, the lower part of the spleen can extend here.

Need more info: there are so many organs in the abdomen that it is difficult to determine the cause unless you provide additional information like triggers, duration, alleviating factors, type of pain and associating symptoms. You can inbox me if you want to discuss further. Take care!

Abdominal pain: Severe abdominal pain should be evaluated in the emergency room. The most likely causes are constipation or diverticular disease although intestinal obstruction is also possible. If female, then ovarian issues could cause pain. At the emergency room, bloodwork, abdominal xrays and a ct scan of the abdomen and pelvis would most likely be completed and should give the diagnosis and treatment.
