Anesthesiologists: Anesthesiologists treat pain, render general anesthesia patients unconcious and maintain this sleep state througout the surgery. They prevent patients from moving. Anesthesiologists also manage the chronic medical problems that patients have while in the operating room as well as any medical interactions between the patient and surgery or between the patient and the anesthetics.
