Critical Care Doctor: An anesthesiologist's main job is to ensure the safety of a patient during surgical procedures while keeping them comfortable. Anesthesia involves analgesia, which is pain relief and at times amnesia which ensures that the patient does not have a recollection of their surgery or procedure. They are usually specialists in IV access, airway management and very knowledgeable about pharmacology.
