How can i help my girlfriend who has ptsd from another relationship?

Partner with PTSD: You can be understanding, supportive and patient. Learn about ptsd in general and talk to her about what she needs from you in particular. Encourage her to get counseling if she's not already, and go to couples counseling with her for specific ways to make your relationship successful..

Psychoeducation: I agree with dr. Stewart. Besides being loving & supportive, the single best thing you can do is to become educated about ptsd. You will learn about triggers, avoidance, hypervigilance, physiological arousal & reliving. All things which will better equip you to be the mate to someone with ptsd. Take care.
