Incomplete info: What are your free T4 and T3 (liothyronine) levels? What symptoms do you have that you perceive to be hyperthyroidism. It would be quite acceptable to seek a second opinion if you are not satisfied with your doctor's answer. It is not feasible to provide a meaninful oponion without examining you.

Lab values: Laboratory values have a range of normal. You may have values on the upper limit of the normal range but show symptoms of hyperthyroidism. If your symptoms are concerning to you, and you are not satisfied with the recommendation of your doctor, my advice is to get a printed copy of your laboratory results and ask for a referral to an endocrinologist who can effectively discuss a plan with you.
