BTU: Basdene is benzylthiouracil, a treatment for hyperthyroidism or grave's disease. Alvocadyl is propranolol, a beta blocker that reduces the symptoms of hyperthyroidism. These medications are effective at treating hyperthyroidism caused by graves disease. (neither of these tradenames is available in the us).
