Allergic eye disease: Your description sounds most consistent with allergic conjunctivitis with related eye irritation. I would try cool compresses, chilled artificial tears, and topical and/or oral anti-allergy meds. If no improvement or worsening, i would go see an eye doctor for further evaluation.
