Yes.: But it could also be a sign of complications such as pneumonia, pleurisy, or pneumothorax.

Yes...: Coughing can lead to musculoskeletal problems including pulled muscles, cartilage inflammation and even rib fractures. It will all resolve once the cough resolves although it will likely take a few days for these problems to completely resolve.
