Many reasons: There are numerous reasons for tooth sensitivity. Some more serious, than others. And some that can be easily corrected. Get to a dentist so that the cause and treatment can be determined.

Yes: Sensitive teeth indicate--- enamel corrosion ( due to caries etc) which is exposing nerve. See dentist.

Sensitive Teeth: Sensitive teeth can range from recession of the gums, abfraction (flexing of tooth), cracks and fractures of teeth, cavities to other pathology's can cause sensitive teeth from air to cold/hot liquids, candy, etc. Sensitive teeth can be treated from simple mouthwashes to other treatment such as restorations.
