Incurable?: Some nasal conditions are incurable but treatable: nasal polyps, nonallergic rhinitis. Allergy shots can cure some but not all cases of allergic rhinitis. Rhinitis medicamentosa, addiction to afrin or other nasal vasoconstrictor sprays, can be cured by going cold turkey for 72 hours. Saline rinses will help get you through the worst part of withdrawal symptoms. Your doctor can help.

Decongestants: If you have been using over the counter decongestant medications to try and get relief, such as afrin, neosynephrine, Vicks 4 way, etc, you may now have something called rhinitis medicamentosa due to the repeated use of the topical decongestant medication. This causes rebound nasal congestion when the decongestant wears off which occurs quicker over time. See and ENT or allergist.
