A member asked:

Should adults get an annual physical with blood test and urinalysis? lately i've discovered people in their 40s and 50s who have never had a physical.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Prudent practice: It is prudent to establish a baseline at a young age, 20 years would not be too young, given the high prevalence of high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol abnormalities and cardiac disease risk factors. Family history may dictate other screening tests. After that the tests should be repeated at the discretion of your doctor, keeping in mind that more tests are not necessarily better.
