My 11 year old son had some blood in his urine over the weekend with no other symptoms. should he get a urinalysis or wait and see if it happens again?

Dr. Lori Semel
Pediatrics 35 years experience
Hematuria: He should get an evaluation and a urinalysis and urince culture. Hematuria (blood in the urine) is never a "normal" finding.
Dr. Howard Shapiro
Specializes in Internal Medicine
Call pediatrician: Have it evaluated; the urinalysis is just one part of that. Trauma, stones (although uncommon at that age), kidney diseases can all produce hematuria. Call your pediatrician today for an appointment
