Most neurologists are not eager to do testing or treatments for symptoms in your question, but will refer you to an appropriate specialist (IM or orthopedic physician) for same.

Do communicate with your new consultant, and do follow advice provided. The neurologist will decide whether additional testing is needed, and could potentially explain preliminary thoughts after obtaining full history and examination. Hope this is both productive and successful.
