Information 4u: I agree with dr.. Adler that wellbutrin should not be taken in combination with alcohol. That said postmarketing surveillance reports have indicated that there have been rare cases of adverse neuropsychiatric events or reduced alcohol tolerance in patients who are taking alcohol during treatment with bupropion. One study of mice also suggested that alcohol + bupropion (2008) increased seizure risk.
