I had a plate and screws put in my left arm to fix a humerus break 6 weeks ago but one of the screws has come loose. i have a appointment with my surgeon but i was wondering your opinion on picking up my 13lb son still?

Would avoid til xray: I would avoid any strenuous activities with the arm until you get an exam and xray. It is not uncommon for a screw to back out the question is the fracture healing or are there other issues i would see your surgeon asap to make sure everything else is ok because chances are that the fracture is not fully healed in 6 weeks.

Is the bone healed: Often times a loose screw means ineffective healing of the fracture. Since the fracture has not healed the bone moves inappropriately and loosens the screw.
