Would avoid til xray: I would avoid any strenuous activities with the arm until you get an exam and xray. It is not uncommon for a screw to back out the question is the fracture healing or are there other issues i would see your surgeon asap to make sure everything else is ok because chances are that the fracture is not fully healed in 6 weeks.

Is the bone healed: Often times a loose screw means ineffective healing of the fracture. Since the fracture has not healed the bone moves inappropriately and loosens the screw. An xray would answer the question. Maybe, more immobilization or perhaps a bone growth stimulator should be considered. You should not pick up your son or do any other stressful activity until the reason for the screw loosening has been di.
