Yes: Eating delays and prolongs absorption. Medications like xanax (alprazolam) do not produce a euphoria so don't expect one.

Xanax (alprazolam): Xanax (alprazolam) absorption was affected by the type & quantity of the meal you consumed, especially fatty meals. Would recommend waiting 30-60 minutes after a meal to take your medication, unless otherwise specified by your prescribing doctor.
