A member asked:

Was sent to get a neck ultrasound for a lump found during physical. the radiologist who conducted the ultrasound said she could not find the lump that my primary care dr found but instead found an oval hole on the left side of my neck that she said was in

Ultrasound: Sometimes a doctor may feel something and ask for a ultrasound. If the radiologist can not find anything then your doctor may have been feeling normal structures and was just making sure. You can ask your doctor to make a mark on your neck and repeat sonogram. I am not sure what a oval hole. It may have been a benign cyst or a benign appearing lymph nose or a lipoma. Ask them to explain.
