Normal diet: With a cold (viral upper respiratory infection), sinusitis, ear infection, strep throat, or other similar minor infection, one's diet need not change. However, it's wise to avoid big meals, greasy meals, and anything else that would worsen nausea or that would cause vomiting or stomach upset. Sick people can handle small bland snacks better than whole meals.
