A member asked:

Can uti lead to severe hypernatremia with sodium level going as low as 109 in blood?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Complicated: First, low sodium is hyponatremia. Second, it would be very unusual for UTI alone to produce sodium loss. Something else is going on, and you should discuss this with the doctor.
