Can peripheral neuropathy cause bilateral tarlov cysts? or vice versa, what's the difference between bilateral tarlov cysts and one-sided tarlov cysts?

Dr Tarlov: Peripheral neuropathy is a disease affecting the ends of nerves furthest away from the nerve cell bodies. Tarlov cysts are expansions of membranes ordinarily surrounding the nerves, containing spinal fluid and almost never causing symptoms. The difference between one sided and two sided cysts: same thing but twice as many.

None of the above: Tarlov cysts are normally found incidentally on MRI studies. They are peri-neural cysts found adjacent to the spine, where nerve roots exit. They normally cause no symptoms. Peripheral neuropathy is a condition that may cause pain, numbness, or weakness. It is often due to high blood sugar. It affects the nerve itself, and rarely is a Tarlov cyst involved.
