It could be.: Congestion plugs up the opening between the middle ear and the nose, causing your ears to feel full and occasionally hurt. You could try a dehumidifier, shower, sugarless gum chewing or some oral decongestant to see if it relieves the pain; if not, you do need to see a doctor.

Rx the pain now: I would do what you can to deal with the discomfort now. Ibuprofen & laying with a heating pad on that side of the head can help. Tomorrow try to get in with your pcp or an urgent care center.
