Can be really bad: In severe mania, people can be very agitated and impulsive -- getting themselves into big trouble sexually, financially, or with careers, school, relationships, etc. They can be psychotic, hallucinating and having delusions. They may not sleep for days. They can have mixed states of mania with depression, and end up committing suicide. Such a person needs emergency psychiatric help.
