See below: You may have achilles tendonitis. You can use any of the otc joint balms available at the drug store (tiger balm for example). Also, buy an ankle brace and reduce the stress you place on the ankle (but don't eliminate activity) for a couple weeks.

Pain: in the ankle when running can be a sign of an overuse injury or the beginning of tendonitis. Definitely get it looked at if it continues and you will likely need to stop running for a period of time during the healing process.
